A Home in the Hills of Nepal
Savera is located in Sekaha, a small village at an altitude of 1,500 metres in Nepal's Sankhuwasabha district. Surrounded by rice terraces and rolling hills, overlooking the Tumlingtar Valley and bordering the Makalu-Barun National Park, it is a place where time moves differently.
Savera is the perfect base for exploring the region, whether you prefer gentle walks through the surrounding hills or longer routes leading towards the Makalu-Barun National Park. For those who choose to stay close to home, there is something equally valuable to be found: peace. A good book, a beautiful view, and the luxury of slowing down.
Slow Down
No crowded schedules. No rush.
Wake up to views of the hills, enjoy your morning coffee as the mist rises from the valley, and settle into the rhythm of village life. Sekaha is not a tourist destination, but a real Nepalese village. Surrounded by rice fields and a thriving community, it offers a glimpse into everyday life in the hills.
Each morning, children dressed in bright orange and blue uniforms begin their day at the natural spring. Their cheerful songs and laughter echo through the village, setting the tone for the day ahead.

Savera & Cunina
For many years, Sekaha was barely known beyond the surrounding region. That changed thanks to Cunina, a Belgian non-profit organisation based in Geel.
Directly opposite where Savera now stands, Cunina built a school that today welcomes children from kindergarten through secondary education. In 2018, a Music & Arts School was added with the support of Tomorrowland, creating opportunities for children to develop their talents in music, visual arts, and dance.
Cunina is the life's work of founder Sophie Vangheel. Sponsoring a child means much more than providing access to education. It creates opportunities, eases the burden on families, and strengthens entire communities. I am incredibly proud of my own sponsored child, Anisha Shresta, whose courage, resilience, and determination continue to inspire me. The opportunities she embraces today are exactly why this work matters.
Guests who wish to do so are welcome to experience the start of the school day during their stay — a truly memorable and heartwarming experience.

Our Story
Cunina has been a guiding thread throughout Sandra's life for many years. What began with a motorcycle event grew into volunteer work, a deep connection with Nepal, and eventually, love.
Everest, born Pasang Gyaljen Sherpa, has been involved with Cunina from the very beginning. He even carried the Cunina flag to the summit of Mount Everest — the reason behind his nickname today.
Together, we welcome you here, at your own pace and in your own way.
